How can I block the status messages of my yahoo messenger contacts?

Hi. Can someone please tell me if it is possible to block the status messages and the display images that some people add for their yahoo messenger accounts? Some of my friends just post the most annoying status messages or some bogus display images and I would like to block them. I don't want to delete or block those contacts, and I want to still appear online to them. So is there any way to block their status messages or the display images? Thank you.

1. To the best of my knowledge no, status messages are their choice not yours.
2. You Can block the display images by clicking on them and Close but,you Cannot block the status messages
