Have you stayed at the Disney Yacht Club resort and have you visited in early June?
Can any one give me some feedback on the Yacht Club resort? When making my reservation we were offered an upgrade from moderate resort to Yacht Club for only 300.00 more. I jumped at the opportunity, but now read reviews saying it's more for adults and older kids - mine are 3 and 8? Also I've heard nothing but horror stories about going in June and I'm becoming concerned. Anyone visited in early June and had a good time?

- I don't think I've been to Disney in June. I've been in May and July/August. It's been good. I've stayed at the Yacht Club a few times. I would say that the Beach Club is probably more suitable for younger kids. But it's connected with the Yacht Club so it's possibly to stay at the Yacht Club and then move down to the Beach Club side in terms of the pool, etc. In early June, you might be getting a lot of the college students and high school graduates. If you can go at a different time then it might be worth considering. However, it might be ok if you go in prepared. Talk to the people around. Be friendly and I think you'll be happier with the results. Don't be afraid to speak to the employees if there are any problems. They will intervene on your behalf. Disney is great like that.
- It's true, the Yacht Club may not be ideal for young kids. In fact< I would say that kids your age would appreciate the All_Stars (Movies) more. But a deal is a deal, and the Yacht Club is close to Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk. I'd recommend a great Disney Board to ask more questions Talkdisney.com
- Any upgrade is better than nothing. Yacht and Beach has the best pool I dont know what review you read but all Disney hotels are kid friendly its Disney.... They have a pool just for kids at Y&B which looks like a mini beach... Not all Disney hotel have a pool just for kids. also a playground. With highs during the day in the 90s you will be glad you picked it.
- I have stayed at the Yacht Club with children who were 2, 8, and 13 and it was great! Be sure to meet Art, the Cast Member who works there, he is a legend and all kids love him! Also, be sure to save time for the pool, Stormalong Bay! It is more like a mini-waterpark than a pool. It is so great! Your kids will love it! As far as June goes, we have traveled in June and it can be busy. We used a service that creates your itinerary and touring plans called Custom Mouse Plans, and they were great! With the plans they made, we never waited more than 10 minutes for any ride and we had plenty of time for relaxing at the pool! I will never go to Disney without them again! They have already done our plans for our May/June trip this year and they look great. I highly recommend them, they are the best $150 I spent on my vacation since they helped me get the most bang for my buck!
- summer is crazy crowded--everyone is off from school---yacht club is for older ones--mine are 7 and 6 the pools are great but just too big and they can easily get lost--for what you are paying--i'd stay at the polynesian--smaller--still has a beach--great pool and water slide--it was perfect for my guys~~~
- As a local I will warn you that it is HOT and busy in June! The yacht club and its sister resort the beach club have an amazing pool that they share. We stay at the beach club most of the time but the yacht club is not bad. Both hotels are on the Boardwalk which gives access to lots of restaurants and entertainment options beyond your hotel. One of my favorite hotels on the Disney property
